Taylor Sheridan's 'The Madison' is a Michelle Pfeiffer showcase
Taylor Sheridan’s first new show after "Yellowstone" arrives March 14 on Paramount+. The six-episode first season, already renewed for Season 2, is a family drama starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell that often reads as a powerhouse showcase for Pfeiffer, with strong performances, gorgeous visuals and an emotional punch.
The story follows the wealthy Clyburn family: Stacy (Pfeiffer), her husband Preston (Russell) and their daughters Abigail (Beau Garrett), a divorced mom of two (played by Amiah Miller and Alaina Pollack), and Paige (Elle Chapman), who is married to Russell (Patrick J.
Adams). Preston’s brother Paul is played by Matthew Fox. Though the family lives in Manhattan, circumstances send them to Montana, and the series leans into themes of grief and loss. "The Madison" carries Sheridan’s hallmarks — sweeping nature shots, monologues about the land and noble cowboys — but it’s less violent and more of a tearjerker than some of his work, with Kurt Russell filling a role previously associated with Kevin Costner.
