Lab engineer Samantha De Leon told me, 'The pictures don't do it justice.' Straight out of the box, the TCL X11L delivers one of the most striking images I've seen in my nearly decade-and-a-half career, and with minimal adjustments it can outperform many OLED options.

In the lab we used a special imaging camera to measure color accuracy, brightness and contrast across preset picture modes. The new SDQ‑Mini LED panel came very close to 100% of the BT.2020 color gamut and required only a few tweaks to zero in. It also offers over 20,000 local dimming zones and a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, producing deep blacks and very bright whites; Standard mode is already strong, while Filmmaker and Game modes improve accuracy further.

The X11L shows less of the blue‑shift that affects some LED and OLED screens, and speakers designed by Bang & Olufsen provide audio to match the picture.
