According to Beincrypto, President Donald Trump’s renewed focus on Greenland is presented as a national security priority but appears closely linked to the commercial interests of US technology investors. Beincrypto reports that Greenland’s vast territory, mineral reserves and small population make it attractive to advanced industries, and that private capital has long targeted the island.

Figures identified in the coverage include Bill Gates, Michael Bloomberg and Jeff Bezos investing in KoBold Metals through Breakthrough Energy (reported by Forbes), Sam Altman joining via Apollo Projects in 2022, and additional backing said to include Mark Zuckerberg and Andreessen Horowitz.

The outlet also notes interest from crypto and “network state” proponents: Peter Thiel has backed Praxis, led by CEO Dryden Brown, and Praxis has raised more than $525 million to pursue a new city model built around reduced regulation and tokenized real-world assets.
