Teen Finds Parents' 2003 Engagement Photos; Couple Plans Recreation
Earlier this month, Addison "Addie" Jones, 15, uncovered her parents' engagement photo album while searching under their bed and burst into laughter at their odd poses, People reports. Her parents are Erica Jones, 43, and Daniel "Dan" Jones, 45. The images were taken in spring or summer of 2003, when a then-20-year-old Erica and then-22-year-old Dan were photographed by a friend, Stacey, at three locations: Erica's parents' backyard, the park at a police station and a beach.
While the couple did take some standard portraits, many of the shots were quirky — including trampoline photos and several in which they bent over and grabbed each other's heads between their legs. Erica said, "We had literally completely forgotten about [it]," and recalled that Addie "was laughing uncontrollably and kept saying, 'WHY?'" Erica shared a video of Addie reacting on Instagram and revealed in the comments that they plan to recreate the photos "around early March." The couple — who got engaged in April 2003 at a favorite local restaurant after two years of dating — said they often take an anniversary trip (last year was Disneyland; this year is a Disney cruise and Walt Disney World) and hope to stage the trampoline, beach and head-between-the-legs shots with a photographer friend.
Erica noted Dan "is pretty sure he still has at least one of the shirts" and she may thrift similar pants. The couple will celebrate 22 years of marriage next month on Saturday, Feb.
