Terraria 1.4.5 update launches January 27, Re-Logic confirms
Pcgamer reports that developer Re-Logic has set the release date for Terraria's long-awaited 1.4.5 update after three years of development: January 27.
Re-Logic announced the date in a Steam post, writing, "We have a few more things to get done between now and then," and urging players to "start the countdown because Terraria 1.4.5 will be in your hands in 13 short days!" The studio said it avoided a December launch to prevent releasing in the same week as Christmas and, as an anti-crunch company, did not want to ask teams to "forego time with family and friends and skipping the holidays."
The update's main features include two crossover packs with Dead Cells and Palworld, adding weapons, items and entities, including a "summonable Digtoise" from Palworld that can mine through blocks. Non-licensed additions listed include music blocks, numerous special boulders that "fall" upwards and bounce between ores and chests, several "transformation mounts" turning the player into creatures such as bats, rats and a velociraptor, new entities like a pufferfish and six new types of slime, plus dozens more items and features.
Re-Logic said it still has a few items to finish before the January 27 launch, but the studio has set that date as the target for the update's release.
