'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' Film and Series in the Works With Glen Powell

A24 has acquired the rights to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and is developing both a television series and a new film to expand the Leatherface saga, with Glen Powell and JT Mollner attached to the projects.

Powell is serving as an executive producer alongside Dan Cohen at the duo's Barnstorm Productions. He has been expanding his producing slate, including a first-look deal with Universal Pictures following the success of Twisters and recent work on an action sci-fi thriller for Amazon.

Powell said in a statement that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of his favorite films and that he is honored to help bring a new chapter to the franchise with A24 and JT Mollner. This is a developing story.
