Teyana Taylor to host Saturday Night Live on January 24; Geese to perform
Nbc reports Teyana Taylor will make her Saturday Night Live debut as host on January 24.
Taylor’s episode comes just weeks after she won a Golden Globe and two days after earning her first Academy Award nomination; she is also nominated for a Grammy for her 2025 album Escape Room. The actor and musician launched her SNL week with a promo that referenced Angela Bassett’s Bernie Harris in Waiting to Exhale and showed Taylor confronting Andrew Dismukes over Ashley Padilla’s eggplant parm and his "732 stupid bobbleheads." The live comedy show returned from its winter hiatus on January 17 with host Finn Wolfhard and musical guest A$AP Rocky, and two new episodes were announced following that return.
Indie rock band Geese, fronted by Cameron Winter, are lined up as the January 24 musical guest and are billed as the first guest band of Season 51; they rose to prominence in 2025 with their album Getting Killed. SNL previously referenced Winter when James Austin Johnson did an impression of him in the December 20 sketch "Random Duet Christmas Spectacular." The show airs Saturdays at 11:30/10:30c on the network and is available the next day on Peacock, and sketches from every episode stream on Peacock anytime.
