Realtor.com ranked the 10 US metros where homebuyers currently have the most bargaining power as listings sit on the market longer. The report notes the market has shifted from the competitive 2020 environment: a surplus of homes for sale and softer demand driven by higher mortgage rates, a shakier economy, and still-high prices are giving buyers more choices and less competition.

Most of the metros on the list are in the South and located in the Sun Belt, and Florida has more metros on the list than any other state. As Realtor.com senior economic research analyst Hannah Jones said, "In Florida, growing supply has coincided with softening demand amid rising housing costs that have pushed more buyers to the sidelines."
