The 100 best Pokémon of all time, ranked from best to very best
There are 1,025 Pokémon now, after nine generations of creature-collecting RPGs. As Pokémon turns 30 — and as it's about to usher in a new crop of creatures through Winds and Waves — this felt like a good moment to rank the best of the best. You might notice the list leans toward Pokémon introduced in Red and Blue, a reflection of the collective elder millennial tastes of the team.
Still, the original 151 are classics: designs that have endured for decades and continue to speak to different kinds of fans. Writers and editors submitted ballots ranking their top 20, and a small group of in-house experts settled tiebreakers by weighing cuteness, coolness and cultural impact.
Data for the entries came from Bulbapedia and Serebii.
