Warner Bros. has scheduled a new entry in The Conjuring franchise, titled The Conjuring: First Communion, to open in theaters on Sept. 10, 2027, Movieweb reports.

The film will be directed by Rodrigue Huart with a script by Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg. The announcement follows 2025's The Conjuring: Last Rites, which had been billed as the franchise's final film; the Conjuring Universe comprises nine official films that have generated $2.7 billion worldwide.

Shortly before Last Rites debuted, producers discussed a "Phase 2" and an HBO series was announced on Sept. 9, 2025, with Nancy Won attached as writer, executive producer and showrunner. No plot details or casting announcements have been made for First Communion, and further production information has not been disclosed.
