Netflix political drama The Diplomat is filming its fourth season, actor Ali Ahn told Collider at the Sundance Film Festival, saying she left the set to attend the festival while production continues.

Ahn said the show "just keeps getting better," and teased new turns, including the addition of Bradley Whitford to the cast and that "people are getting into some shady stuff" — adding that "it’s not clear who the good guy is and who the bad guy is," according to Collider.

Last season left several plot threads unresolved: Ahn’s character Eidra Park was drawn deeper into intrigue after the CIA failed to prevent a suspect in custody from committing suicide, and Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) became the Second Lady when her husband Hal (Rufus Sewell) was elevated to the vice presidency.

Wyler had intended to leave her post as the CIA's London Station Chief, but was persuaded to stay by diplomatic attaché Stuart Hayford (Ato Essandoh). The season also ended with an attack on a British aircraft carrier reportedly masterminded by now-President Grace (Allison Janney) and the subsequent acquisition of a stolen Russian nuclear super-weapon by Grace and Hal.

Season 4 is now in production, Collider reports, but no release date has been announced; Collider said it will provide future updates as they become available.
