The Hunting Party not new on March 19; returns April 2
There isn’t a new episode of The Hunting Party on Thursday, March 19. NBC is re-airing the Season 2 premiere, "Ron Simms," which features Eric McCormack and his son, Finnigan McCormack portraying the same killer in two time periods. The series airs Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
In a January interview the McCormacks discussed playing essentially the same character. Eric said the team on the show tries to psychoanalyze criminals to understand why they do what they do, and that the script laid out why the character behaved as he did and what his family background was.
Finnigan said he watched his father’s performance to shape his own take and aimed to keep a through line that allowed for a sliver of empathy amid the character’s horrifying actions. The series will be preempted again on Thursday, March 26, for NBC’s coverage of Major League Baseball's Opening Night.
