The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 Climbs Charts After Major Creative Shift
Season 2 of The Last Thing He Told Me arrived on February 20, 2026, and is already climbing streaming charts — FlixPatrol ranks it at No. 10 in the U.S., just behind Tehran and Your Friends & Neighbors. Apple TV has rolled out several recent hits, from the record-breaking first season of Pluribus to the twisty sophomore season of Hijack, and the new season looks poised to join that run.
The second season was made under different conditions than the first. While Season 1 was directly inspired by Laura Dave’s 2021 novel, the writers only had the first 100 pages of Dave’s sequel, The First Time I Saw Him, when they began scripting Season 2. Dave and the show’s writers worked in parallel; as executive producer Lauren Neustadter put it, "We stayed very close to each other...they complement one another, the novel and the show, in a way that’s really singular and really exciting because they were coming to life at the same time." Critics have noted the change has sharpened the series.
