Stephen King Adaptation The Long Walk Finds Streaming Success

The Long Walk, a 2025 Stephen King adaptation directed by Francis Lawrence, has quietly found streaming traction after grossing $62 million worldwide on a $20 million budget. The film stars Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson and runs 108 minutes; it was released on September 12, 2025.

Critics awarded the film an 88% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while audiences gave it 85%. The story follows a hundred teenage boys forced into a brutal competition that requires them to maintain a set walking speed or face fatal consequences, centering on Ray Garraty as contestants confront fatigue, the threat of death and the unraveling of their sanity.
