The Lost City surges on Pluto TV after $192M box office
Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum’s The Lost City has seen a renewed audience on Pluto TV after grossing $192 million worldwide against a reported $74 million budget. Directed by Adam Nee and Aaron Nee, the 2022 film blended screwball romance with an Indiana Jones–style adventure.
Bullock plays reclusive author Loretta Sage and Tatum the handsome cover model Alan. The pair are thrust into a jungle rescue mission after Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire played by Daniel Radcliffe, with Brad Pitt turning up in an extended cameo.
The Lost City earned generally positive reviews, holding a "Certified Fresh" 78% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 83% audience score. The aggregator’s consensus notes that the movie may not match classic treasure-hunting capers but that its leads’ chemistry carries it.
