'The Mandalorian and Grogu' Won't Have Grogu Speak, Kathleen Kennedy Says
Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that Grogu will not gain the power of speech in The Mandalorian and Grogu.
The most recent trailer, around the 1:26 mark, shows Grogu being asked if he is scared. He replies with a nod and a curious squeal that some viewers claimed sounded like "yes," amid various other gurgles and babbles that had fans hoping he might speak.
Kennedy described Grogu as "another perfect example of a character that has to emote, and you have to feel connected to," and promised audiences will be even more enamored with the character "on the big screen, and he never says a word."
Those hopes have now been dashed, and the film hits theaters in May. This is a developing story...
