An exclusive clip teases the film ahead of its theatrical release on Friday the 13th, offering a look at how the viral horror game translates to the big screen. The footage opens on Willa Holland’s Rebecca Owens in a white lab coat, rinsing blood from a morgue table while ticking off a night-shift checklist at River Fields Mortuary.

A restock sends her to the basement, where Head Mortician Raymond Delver (Paul Sparks) emerges from the dark and stops her; the clip ends by revealing why the area is off limits, at least for now. The Mortuary Assistant became a cult favorite after its 2022 release, finding wider attention through streamer, YouTube, and TikTok reactions thanks to its jump scares and tense first-person gameplay.

Publisher DreadXP and Epic Pictures Group moved quickly to adapt the title, with creator Brian Clarke co-writing the screenplay alongside Tracee Beebe, Jeremiah Kipp directing, and the film produced by Epic’s Dread label. The Mortuary Assistant opens in theaters on Feb.
