The Most Infamous 5-Part Fantasy Franchise of All Time Is Coming to HBO Max
The Twilight Saga, the five-part fantasy franchise that helped change how vampires were portrayed on screen, has found an exclusive home on HBO Max. The Robert Pattinson- and Kristen Stewart-led films revived the young adult genre and helped pave the way for shows such as The Vampire Diaries, True Blood and Teen Wolf, and the fan base remains strong two decades after the first release.
Across five films released between 2008 and 2012, the franchise earned $3.3 billion worldwide. The story follows Bella Swan, who falls in love with her high school peer and secret vampire Edward Cullen, then faces heartbreak, a love triangle, reunion and a war to protect their family across New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2.
Memorable moments include the baseball scene in the first movie and the battle sequence in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Fans appreciate the films for their nostalgic hit, campy dialogue and moody atmosphere, and the franchise has seen a resurgence on streaming services.
