The 1998 film Lost in Space has climbed to #10 on free, ad-supported streamer Tubi, drawing renewed attention to the big‑screen remake. When it opened theatrically, it became the first movie to reach the No. 1 spot after James Cameron’s Titanic spent fifteen consecutive weeks at the top.

The movie adapts Irwin Allen’s 1965–68 television series, itself loosely derived from The Swiss Family Robinson. The original followed the Robinson family, Major Don West and their robot, and was memorably upended by the theatrical malcontent Dr. Zachary Smith.

Set in 2058, the remake stars William Hurt as John Robinson, with Heather Graham and Jack Johnson among his children, Lacey Chabert as Penny, Mimi Rogers as Maureen, Matt LeBlanc as Don West and Gary Oldman as saboteur Zachary Smith; Dick Tufeld again provided the robot’s voice.
