The Super Mario Galaxy Promo Features Pikmin and R.O.B.

A new promotional video for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie briefly shows two unexpected Nintendo faces: the plant-like alien Pikmin and the Robotic Operating Buddy, R.O.B. The clip, which carried the caption "They're ready for their close up. Don't miss The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, only in theaters April 1," also slips in other familiar characters such as Birdo, Mouser and Piranha Plant.

The sequel reunites many characters from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad and Bowser, while adding fan favorites like Yoshi, Rosalina, Bowser Jr., Birdo and King Wart. Pikmin, which debuted in the 2001 video game Pikmin, have grown into their own franchise alongside Captain Olimar and are a natural fit for the film’s planetary adventures.

R.O.B. began life as an accessory for the NES in 1985 and later became a legacy Nintendo character. Both R.O.B. and Pikmin joined the Super Smash Bros. franchise in 2007 with Super Smash Bros. Brawl and have appeared in every entry since; R.O.B.
