The Wheel of Time to return as animated films, series and a game

Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time is getting a second life on screen after Prime Video canceled its live-action adaptation. The franchise will return as a series of animated movies and shows plus a video game, all developed by Arcane animated series producer Thomas Vu through his company iwot Studios.

Vu has already released his first concept art for the series' main character, Rand al'Thor, seen below via Variety. These new animated projects and the new video game join a pair of previously announced Wheel of Time films — a 3D movie titled The White Tower and Kari Skogland's live-action movie Age of Legends — as well as another AAA open-world RPG, though they will not be connected.

"I see tremendous opportunity in expanding 'The Wheel of Time' into fully authentic, integrated, interactive, and animated storytelling experiences," Vu said.
