At about 2:15 a.m. local time on Wednesday, Feb. 4, Uttar Pradesh Police responded to reports that three girls had jumped from the balcony of the ninth floor of an apartment building on the outskirts of New Delhi. The girls were identified as sisters Nishika, 16, Prachi, 14, and Pakhi, 12, and were pronounced dead at the scene after being taken to Loni Hospital.

Local reports and the girls' father, Chetan Kumar, said the sisters had been playing a Korean online "love game" on their father's phone and had recently been denied access to the device. Authorities said they jumped one after the other and left an eight-page suicide note expressing their attachment to Korean culture and the game.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Nimish Patel said legal proceedings and an investigation are underway and that no specific game name has been confirmed.
