Tim Dillon eyes filming comedy special on L.A.'s Skid Row
Comedian Tim Dillon hopes to film his next stand-up special on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles, Page Six reports.
Comedy insiders tell Page Six that Dillon, who already has three specials on Netflix, is trying to work through the practicalities of filming in the notorious homeless area. "That’s what he wants to do," a source said, "I think he just thinks it’s a funny thing to do."
Dillon has talked about the neighborhood several times. He suggested on a podcast that a friend should do a "Bachelor"-style show with women from the area, and on another show said L.A. should think of it as an asset: "Let’s be proud of it... There’s 10,000 people right here!"
His 2024 Netflix special, "Tim Dillon: This Is You Country," was an unscripted, Jerry Springer-style talk show format, and he has joked about taking friends on a drive through Skid Row as a Halloween activity.
Page Six notes Dillon is part of Joe Rogan’s circle and has become pals with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. What happens next is unclear: insiders say Dillon is working through logistical issues for a Skid Row taping, and Dillon and his reps didn’t return multiple requests for comment.
