Timber urges Arsenal to 'talk' about late-game anxiety after Chelsea scare
Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber says the squad must 'address and talk about' a growing anxiety that has crept into their matches after a nervy 2-1 win over Chelsea, a result preserved by David Raya's 92nd-minute save to deny Alejandro Garnacho as the Gunners held their lead at the top of the Premier League.
Timber was blunt about the performance, saying: 'You feel it, especially at the end. We stopped playing a bit, which was unnecessary - especially with a man up. It's something we need to work on, talk about as well.' He pointed to a worrying pattern since the turn of the year, with late goals costing points against Wolves, Brentford and Manchester United, and said the nervy finish was 'entirely self-inflicted.' While the outfield players struggled to see out the game, Raya again proved decisive.
Timber praised the goalkeeper: 'David is amazing. Often he shows that he wins us games. He has a lot of magic moments.
