Timberborn has moved out of early access with a 1.0 launch that adds new environment objects, maps and, most notably, automation. Mechanistry's update introduces twenty new buildings intended to act as logic nodes so structures and objects can operate independently.

The new components range from simple levers to logic relays, flow sensors, power meters and weather stations. There are also more specific nodes, such as detonators for setting off explosions and fireworks, which can be used for signalling or simply for fun. Mechanistry published a blog post and YouTube video showing practical uses for the automation.

Players can, for example, set floodgates to close automatically when a tide of noxious badwater arrives, pause production buildings when a resource runs low, or reroute beaver pathways and block recreational areas until a certain time of day. Automation joins earlier additions from alpha and early access, including water pumps, ziplines, tubeways and robotic beavers.
