Timothée Chalamet Says Interstellar Is His Favorite Project Despite Small Role
At a fan Q&A during his American Cinematheque career retrospective, Timothée Chalamet said Interstellar remains his favorite project even though his part was small. Christopher Nolan attended the event, and Chalamet recalled being "number 12 on the call sheet," calling the film "a little emerald" that arrived at a time he needed it.
Released in 2014, Interstellar features Chalamet as Young Tom Cooper, the teenage version of Casey Affleck's character, while Matthew McConaughey plays the father who ventures into space. Nolan screened the film in 70mm at the retrospective, and it holds a 73% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Chalamet began his career on an episode of Law & Order titled "Pledge" (Season 19) and has since worked with filmmakers including Wes Anderson, Luca Guadagnino, Scott Cooper, James Mangold, Woody Allen, Denis Villeneuve, and Greta Gerwig.
He is next scheduled to relive Call Me By Your Name in front of an audience at the Los Angeles Theater on Friday, February 13.
