Timothy Busfield dropped by agency after child sex abuse charges
People reports that actor Timothy Busfield, 68, has been dropped by his agency and is in custody in New Mexico after being charged with child sex abuse. Court documents say he faces two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse. A warrant issued Jan.
9 by the Albuquerque Police Department alleges unlawful sexual conduct with twin 11-year-old boys. Innovative Artists confirmed to Deadline on Jan. 14 that Busfield was no longer represented by the agency after having worked with them for "several" years; he surrendered to police and made his first court appearance on Jan.
14. A pretrial detention motion filed Jan. 14 says Colin Swift reported to law enforcement on Jan. 13 that Busfield allegedly sexually abused Swift's daughter "several years ago" in Sacramento, Calif. The motion quotes a 16-year-old who, while auditioning for Busfield at B Street Theatre, reported that Busfield "kissed her and put his hands down her pants and touched her privates." B Street Theatre said it obtained legal counsel for an internal investigation and that Busfield has not had any role in the organization since 2001.
