When a friend gifted me the Cloud Strife Magic: The Gathering card, I was intimidated — it’s a reprint of Najeela, the Blade‑Blossom, a commander that draws attention immediately. A 3/2 human warrior for two colorless and one red, Najeela makes a warrior token whenever a warrior attacks, and for five mana (one of each color) you can untap all attacking creatures, give them trample, lifelink, and haste, and take an additional combat phase.

That ability hands a five‑color deck a very clear win condition: ramp, fill the board with warriors, keep attacking to make more warriors, then trigger the ability mid‑combat. The tradeoff is careful mana planning and a lot of directions to explore. I leaned into Universes Beyond and the TMNT set, especially Raph & Leo, Sibling Rivals.

Though they’re turtles and not warriors, their attack trigger untaps one or two attackers and grants an extra combat phase if it’s the first combat phase of the turn.
