Toby Fox says most of Deltarune team has moved on from Chapter 5
Toby Fox posted on Bluesky with an update on Deltarune's fifth chapter. Professional testers are familiarizing themselves with the build and will begin formal testing on April 1, while Japanese translation quality assurance is projected to be completed in April.
He added that “most of the development team has moved on from Chapter 5.” Fox followed up by noting that “the actual testing period will last for an indefinite amount of time” and that “the game needs to get approved on consoles and we need to do various other things to prepare for release.” He said “that’ll be all” on the topic for the foreseeable future.
Assuming the game arrives this year as Fox predicted on Jan. 1, the gap between releases would be shorter than the three years between chapters one and two and the nearly four years between chapter two and the dual release of chapters three and four. The previous chapter pushed Deltarune to the top of the Steam best sellers list, so interest remains strong.
