Today show increases security after Savannah Guthrie's mother goes missing
Multiple sources told the US Sun that NBC has increased security at its New York studio and partnered with the NYPD out of an "abundance of caution" as Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy, remains missing.
According to reports, Nancy Guthrie was last seen on Jan. 31 after a family dinner and was reported missing on Feb. 1 after she failed to appear at church. The Pima County Sheriff's Department is treating the case as a crime, saying she may have been taken from her home against her will and noting she is in her mid-80s and has health issues, including high blood pressure and a pacemaker.
Police have not ruled out motives and are investigating leads, including reports of a possible ransom note, with detectives coordinating with the FBI. Colleagues on the "Today" show have said they are shaken and "rattled," and Savannah Guthrie has remained in Arizona with her family and withdrawn from hosting the Winter Olympics.
