Tom Cruise and Jon M. Chu Filmed a Secret Paramount Promo
Tom Cruise worked with Wicked director Jon M. Chu on a new video promoting a "brand new day" at Paramount Pictures, a project shot quietly for the studio after David Ellison and Skydance acquired Paramount in the summer of 2025. It remains unclear whether the video will be released publicly or kept private.
Cruise’s relationship with Paramount stretches back to 1986’s Top Gun and now includes almost 20 projects, with Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning arriving in July 2025. He also has several projects in development, including sequels to Days of Thunder and Top Gun: Maverick, alongside this special collaboration with Chu.
Paramount is meanwhile pursuing a potential $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, a move that could open access to major franchises such as the Wizarding World, Looney Tunes, the Monsterverse, and The Lord of the Rings. The future of the DC Universe is also a focal point, with James Gunn and Peter Safran widely expected to continue leading the studio’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters slate.
