Tom Ellis has moved from Lucifer to lead CIA, a new cop series built inside Dick Wolf’s FBI universe. The premise pairs a rule-bending CIA case officer with a strict FBI agent on covert New York operations, tackling terror cells, international plots and geopolitics that push a procedural into a pressure cooker.

Streaming charts show a quick pickup. FlixPatrol places the series at #9 on the Paramount+ (Amazon Channels) Top 10 on February 25, then rising to #3 and holding that spot on February 27. It also reached #6 on Amazon U.S. and hit #4 on Neon TV in New Zealand, signalling international traction.

The odd-couple engine and franchise adjacency help explain the interest. Ellis stars as Hart Hoxton opposite Nick Gehlfuss’s by-the-book Bill Goodman, with Necar Zadegan and Natalee Linez among the core team. Designed to sit inside a larger TV ecosystem, the show can pull in familiar agents, recurring villains or shared missions while remaining an entry point for new viewers.
