Tori Spelling says friends 'ruined' her only date with Freddie Prinze Jr.
Tori Spelling said her only date with Freddie Prinze Jr. was "ruined" by friends, recounting the story on her misSPELLING podcast. The actors briefly worked together on the 1997 film The House of Yes, and Spelling said they developed a thing for each other off camera.
She remembered living with a best friend who had people over smoking weed just before Freddie arrived. Spelling warned them he would smell it, but they were stoned on her couch when he came up in the building elevator, behaved embarrassingly and even asked, "Freddie, is that Frederick?" The pair left to see the movie Cable Guy, and Spelling said it wasn’t meant to be.
The two stayed "friends-ish" and shared a few makeout sessions in their trailer during lunch breaks while filming, though it never went beyond kissing. Spelling described Prinze Jr. as "very pure" and recalled him visiting the 90210 set before auditioning for I Know What You Did Last Summer.
