Torricelli: Spalletti making Juventus fans dream again

Torricelli pointed to the embrace after Thuram’s goal as a sign of a united squad under Spalletti. He said the team has stepped up a gear since the coach arrived, slipping up only in a couple of games, and that giving the supporters something to dream about again is the most important outcome.

That unity and willingness to help one another, he added, gives him hope for the Champions League. Recalling the 1996 Champions League success, he described feeling fortunate to have been part of a team that won everything and becoming an icon for ordinary fans.

The achievement fills him and his teammates with pride, and they keep in touch through a chat group called Champions 96 where they laugh, joke and exchange greetings. For him, being part of Juventus’s history is a big deal. On Gianluca Vialli, Torricelli called him one of the great architects of that Juve side.
