Total Chaos, Trigger Happy Interactive’s remake of the Doom total conversion, is getting a New Game+ update that introduces a persistent, Alien: Isolation–style enemy — "It does not patrol. It does not follow rules. It adapts." The move draws on elements from Alien: Isolation and Amnesia: The Bunker to push the game’s scares further.

Trigger Happy says the first seven chapters have been "transformed into far more hostile gauntlets," with scarcer resources, more aggressive enemies, and level tweaks so routes are "less predictable." Given the game’s already mazey maps, New Game+ should sharpen the navigational challenge and force players to rethink how they move and fight.

The final chapter is described as "completely new" and will lead to a different ending. "Reckoning reveals more about Fort Oasis, the forces that consumed it, and the true meaning behind your journey," the developer says, promising additional story and context for returning players.
