Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest: Jesus and Gibbs-White on target
Nottingham Forest beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Tottenham, Igor Jesus heading them in front on the stroke of half-time and Morgan Gibbs-White adding a second in the 62nd minute. Jesus met a Neco Williams corner to power a header across goal, and Gibbs-White finished a precise cutback from Callum Hudson-Odoi, his first-time shot beating Guglielmo Vicario.
Spurs had enjoyed long spells with the ball and racked up a string of corners, but they failed to convert pressure into clear chances. Mathys Tel struck the bar in added time before half-time, Vicario made a number of important saves, and Tottenham introduced Lucas Bergvall and Destiny Udogie at the break before later bringing on Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani.
Forest defended resolutely, with the centre-back pairing of Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic keeping Spurs at arm’s length, and the visitors also made late substitutions with Ryan Yates and Taiwo Awoniyi replacing Igor Jesus and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
