The game turned on a penalty and a red card for Van de Ven; Sarr converted from the spot and then struck again as Palace pulled clear in first-half stoppage time.

The defeat is another damaging result for Spurs, who lost the match and Van de Ven and face an uncertain future in the Premier League. Palace look to have secured safety and appear to be running into form ahead of the Conference knockouts.
