The second leg of the Champions League round of 16 returned with Atlético holding a 5–2 lead from the first leg as Tottenham hosted the visitors in London. An early Lookman strike was ruled out for offside after VAR confirmation in the sixth minute. Kolo Muani opened the scoring on 30 minutes, heading home unmarked from Tel’s cross.

Julian Álvarez equalised on 47 minutes with a winning turn and shot, assisted by Lookman, and five minutes later Xavi Simons put Spurs back in front, curling the ball into the net after Gray stole the ball and played a one-two with him. The match finished Tottenham 2–1 (first leg 2–5), leaving Atlético with the advantage going into the next round.
