Tottenham fans call off protest to back team amid relegation fight
Tottenham Hotspur supporters have halted planned demonstrations against the club’s hierarchy as the team faces a genuine threat of losing its top-flight status. The group Change For Tottenham (CFT) announced the U-turn and said the focus must shift entirely to supporting the players during this crisis.
The club sit 16th, are winless in eight matches and lie just a single point above the relegation zone, currently occupied by West Ham United. A large-scale protest that had been due to coincide with Sunday’s visit of Nottingham Forest was postponed after CFT acknowledged the severity of the threat to survival and prioritised the team’s chances over institutional grievances.
