Tottenham hit 50-year low after home defeat leaves them one point above drop
Tottenham suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace on Thursday, extending their Premier League winless run to 11 matches and hitting a 50-year low. The loss leaves Igor Tudor's side just one point above the relegation zone as the campaign moves into its final stretch.
Dominic Solanke opened the scoring in the 34th minute after an earlier Ismaila Sarr goal was disallowed, but the game turned when Micky van de Ven was sent off for pulling Sarr in the box. Sarr converted the penalty, Jorgen Strand Larsen made it 2-1, and Sarr added a third in the seventh minute of first-half stoppage time.
Tottenham steadied in the second half but could not mount a comeback. Tudor's decision to leave out signings Conor Gallagher and Xavi Simons backfired, and his late substitutions failed to spark a revival; he has now lost all three matches in interim charge.
