Tottenham to welcome Evangelos Marinakis despite legal threat
Tottenham will welcome Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis to the directors' box for Sunday's Premier League meeting, despite his previous threat of legal action after a failed pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White last summer. The relationship had been strained by alleged confidentiality breaches and a dispute over a £60 million release clause, but Spurs have signalled an intent to move on.
The day-to-day running of the club has shifted to the Lewis family and CEO Vinai Venkatesham, who is expected to be present on Sunday. Marinakis celebrated Gibbs-White signing a new three-year deal at the City Ground, saying "at the end of the day, we always win." It remains unclear whether he will travel, and seeing Gibbs-White in a Forest shirt could be a reminder for Spurs fans of a transfer window that also saw Eberechi Eze join Arsenal.
Manager Igor Tudor has highlighted the resurgence of Xavi Simons, who scored twice against Atletico Madrid despite the 7-5 aggregate loss, and offered a positive update on James Maddison's ACL recovery.
