Trailer: Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen in The Miniature Wife
Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen star in The Miniature Wife, a new Peacock comedy built around a shrinking experiment gone wrong. Macfadyen plays scientist Les Littlejohn, whose technology meant for agriculture accidentally reduces his wife Lindy (Banks) to dollhouse size.
Based on a short story by Manuel Gonzales, the trailer leans into broad comedy as Lindy scrambles around her tiny world while Les and his team race to reverse the process. The series adds urgency with a 30-day limit: if they cannot restore her size, the patent on the technology reverts to Hilton (Ronny Chieng).
The show also signals a dramatic throughline about the power (im)balances between spouses. Even before the shrinking incident, Les and Lindy appear to be negotiating roles in their relationship: "My husband and I, we take turns supporting each other. So he supported me through my first book, and now it’s my turn," she says to Les' apparent discomfort.
