Transfer your AI memories and preferences to Claude
Many AI tools offer a memory feature that gathers and stores details about you to personalize chats, but building that memory can take time. Claude AI now provides a memory import option so you can transfer memories from another service — for example, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot — making it easier to switch or to give Claude the same background and preferences.
To use the tool, sign up for Claude (free or paid) and open the memory import page. If you already use Claude, access Settings by clicking your account name at the bottom of the left sidebar, choose Privacy, click Manage next to Memory preferences, then select Start import.
A small window appears with ready-made instructions; click Copy to copy them. Next, sign in to the other AI, paste the copied instructions at its prompt, and submit.
