Trump backs ICE agent after Minneapolis shooting that killed Renee Good
President Donald Trump described Renee Good as "highly disrespectful of law enforcement" and said she and "her friend…were…professional agitators," saying he wanted to find out who was paying for it, on Air Force One late Sunday, according to Independent.co. Good, a 37-year-old mother, was shot dead by ICE agent Jonathan Ross while behind the wheel of her SUV on a residential street in Minneapolis last Wednesday.
Footage of the shooting has drawn intense scrutiny, with Democrats accusing Ross of acting recklessly and Republicans saying Good attempted to ram the agent. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president "absolutely" supports Ross and described Good as a "deranged lunatic" who "was trying to ram" him.
Several Trump administration officials have blamed Good for her death and vowed to increase immigration enforcement; Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said "hundreds" more federal agents will be deployed to Minnesota. Demonstrations erupted across the country over the weekend and more anti-ICE protests were scheduled for Monday, including in upstate New York and south Florida, with marches planned in Syracuse and Marathon, according to Syracuse.com and CBS News.
