Trump Media to distribute tokens to shareholders in Crypto.com partnership
Trump Media and Technology Group said Wednesday it will distribute a new digital token to shareholders through a deal with Crypto.com.
The token will be issued on Crypto.com’s Cronos blockchain. The company said shareholders will receive one token for every whole share of DJT they hold.
Token holders may periodically receive rewards, including potential benefits or discounts tied to Truth Social, the Truth+ streaming service and Truth Predict, the company said.
U.S. president Donald Trump is the company’s majority owner and has spoken favorably about the crypto industry in 2025, saying in November he wants the U.S. to become a “bitcoin superpower.”
Trump Media’s CEO and chairman, Devin Nunes, said the company looks forward to using Crypto.com’s blockchain technology and improving regulatory clarity to implement the distribution, reward shareholders and promote fair and transparent markets.
Shares of Trump Media rose in pre-market trading, with DJT reaching $12.97, up 3.18%. Crypto.com’s native token, CRO, initially jumped about 3.8% before trimming gains.
The company said additional details about the token distribution will be announced in the new year.
