Trump says suspect 'could be definitive' in Nancy Guthrie case
President Donald Trump told reporters on Air Force One Friday night that investigators are very close to cracking the kidnapping of Savannah Guthrie’s mother and may even have a suspect. When a journalist asked if someone had been identified, he replied, "Yeah.
Could be definitive." He added that investigators have "very strong" clues and that "we could have some answers coming up fairly soon," saying he meant a "solution" rather than a search. The update came less than 24 hours after it was reported authorities were reviewing another potential ransom note related to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.
The message was shared with KOLD 13 News, which did not provide further details about its contents. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing on Sunday after she missed church services. She was last seen Saturday around 9:30 p.m., when her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, dropped her off at home after dinner with him and her daughter, Annie Guthrie; investigators believe she was abducted in her sleep.
