At the World Economic Forum in Davos, US President Donald Trump said he is seeking immediate negotiations to acquire Greenland and emphasized the United States would not use force, Beincrypto reported.

Trump framed the initiative as driven solely by national security and dismissed rare earth minerals as a motive. He described Greenland as “a core national security interest for the US,” saying “it’s the United States alone that can protect this giant piece of ice,” and called for immediate talks, warning “You can say no, and we will remember.” He also raised concerns about nuclear and missile threats, criticized NATO, and reiterated claims that the 2020 election was rigged.

During the speech he addressed other international matters, responding to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney by saying “Canada lives because of the US,” and commenting on Venezuela and European policies. The report did not detail any response from Denmark or Greenland or specify concrete next steps for the proposed negotiations.
