Nytimes reports the Trump administration plans to unveil a website on Thursday evening to help American patients buy prescription drugs directly from drugmakers. Karoline Leavitt, the press secretary, said Mr. Trump would hold an event at 7 p.m. to debut the site and claimed millions would save, though researchers warned some Americans could overpay.

The site, TrumpRx.gov, will not sell drugs but will let consumers search for medicines and navigate to manufacturers’ direct-buy pages; patients still need a prescription. It is expected to feature dozens of medicines, including Wegovy, Zepbound and Humira, with wide price variation — a month’s supply of Plavix is expected to cost $16 while Epclusa is expected to cost $2,425 — and it is unclear how health insurance will work through the site.
