Independent.co reports employees of the clothing brand Tuckernuck in Washington, D.C., say they are uncomfortable serving some high-profile customers who shop at the store. The Daily Beast spoke to an anonymous Tuckernuck employee who said workers in Washington are in a “constant back and forth” over serving some customers and added, “We all have to keep the lights on somehow.” The employee specifically said they “have a hard time” with Karoline Leavitt and that “Her kind of day-to-day is very much against my morals and values,” the outlet reported.

The Daily Beast also said Leavitt and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem have been spotted shopping at Tuckernuck; it reported Leavitt wore the brand’s Black Metallic Bouclé Mini Dress in April and Second Lady Usha Vance wore the Black Jacquard Puff Sleeve Midi Darcy Dress in May when she met Pope Leo XIV.

The outlet noted Axios reported on Tuckernuck’s popularity among conservatives in October, saying the brand’s red Jackie dress went viral in 2024 and was seen several times at that year’s Republican National Convention. Axios quoted co‑founder Madeline Grayson saying the brand is apolitical and worn by customers across the political spectrum.
