Tottenham interim manager Igor Tudor substituted 22-year-old Antonin Kinsky after just 17 minutes of the Champions League tie at Atletico Madrid and appeared to ignore the distraught goalkeeper as he left the pitch. The decision to start Kinsky ahead of Guglielmo Vicario and then hook him so early has provoked widespread criticism.

Kinsky endured a night to forget as the hosts raced into a three-goal lead in exactly 14 minutes and 59 seconds, the earliest a side had fallen three goals behind in a Champions League knockout match, Opta noted. Tudor said he acted to stop the damage after Kinsky committed two high-profile errors, including missing a routine back pass, and the keeper was seen heading straight down the tunnel.

Former goalkeeper Joe Hart was scathing on TNT Sports: "The whole stadium is feeling sorry for him. He walks past Tudor - and he doesn’t even acknowledge him. If that’s man-management, I'm flabbergasted. He stands there and pretends it hasn’t happened. I’m just heartbroken from the lad, absolutely heartbroken.
